[The Story So Far]
LiLYPSE. A mysterious twin virtual singer unit consisting of Mikado Akatsuki and Oboro Akatsuki.
This is a musical saga of twin girls with amnesia—who may not even be human—searching for their true identities and the meaning of their existence.
In the deep, dark abyss, the two awoke. They had lost their memories, remembering only each other's names. They wandered through the darkness, but no matter how far they walked, there was nothing. In a space where they felt neither hunger nor sleep, they continued to roam.
To stave off the loneliness, they sang. At first, their songs were filled with bright hope. But eventually, they began to sing of irony and despair. Just as Mikado Akatsuki reached her limit, a door opened with a blinding light.
They saw a dream—a dream where they performed as LiLYPSE before a massive audience.
Awakening from the dream, they arrived at a "room." There, music, books, and videos drifted in from nowhere. Using this place as their base, they sought a way to escape the world of darkness.
They reached a conclusion: the scenes they saw in their dreams were the outside world—the "reality"—and their current situation was the "dream." They believed they were beings of pure consciousness, or thought-forms. Thus, they began their activities as the virtual artist LiLYPSE, interfering with the outside world and slowly gathering strength.
With the appearance of "Aides," who calls himself a storyteller, their story accelerated. After four operas (online lives), they finally reached the Kagura (solo live) that connected them to the real world. By bonding with their "Gumin" (lowly subjects) through the Kagura, they awakened as "Priestesses of the Planets" and entered Phase 3.
The story then entered an interlude.
"Eclipse of Twin Love and Hate": Through two solo lives, the relationship between the two changed. The transformation of Mikado and Oboro's form of love would greatly influence the story to come.
"Xenoglossy of Anti-God Rebellion": LiLYPSE challenged the "Fool's Tower," a trial prepared by Aides. Though they conquered the tower alongside him, they were separated from their "Shadows"—their other selves—along the way.
"Repression of Twin Return Coffin": Who are the "Shadows," the other personalities within Mikado and Oboro? What is the secret of their birth? This told the previously unspoken story of the girls in the shadows.
Now, with all the interludes concluded, the stage is set.
Who is LiLYPSE? Why did they lose their memories, and why do they have no physiological needs? What is Aides’ true identity and purpose?
"Shoujo Kasou EuphoLily": Finally, all mysteries shall be revealed.
Behold the beginning of the end of LiLYPSE's story...
