Recitation Unit Sazanami - Masterpieces of Kenji Miyazawa
Step away from the hustle and bustle of the city and lend your ear to words.
"Sazanami", a recitation unit that brings modern and contemporary Japanese literature to life.
The unit aims to convey the beauty of the Japanese language through our readings.
In 2022, during the challenging times of the pandemic in China, the reading unit "Sazanami" was formed. The inspiration to revisit Japanese literature came from Kenji Miyazawa's "The Nighthawk's Star."
The messages woven into Kenji Miyazawa's works transcend over a century and still deeply resonate with us, living in the present day.
Within those works, there is an overflow of Kenji Miyazawa's gentleness. During rehearsals, the more the members of the unit peruse, the more they unravel the emotions Kenji Miyazawa imbued into the characters' lines. The members realize the depth of his creations.
The unit recites his works in the way both those who have read them thoroughly and those who are new to them will be able to feel his world in three dimensions.
For this event, with a cooperation of VAPALO THEATER, media art will be shown on a special screen along with the recitation.
Enjoy the fusion of cutting-edge technology and reading.
